The Wonderful Builth Winter Fair is Back

A Christmas excursion to the Royal Welsh Winter Show

We took a group of young people to Builth Wells, to visit the legendary, Builth Winter Fair.

A collage of learners at the Builth Winter Fair. 9 pictures of pigs, bulls, horses, people at craft stalls and having fun.

We all had an amazing time, looking at the Christmas crafts, and the animals being shown and auctioned. Lots of us managed to do some Christmas shopping, purchasing gifts for family and friends. It’s a busy, bustling, noisy event, and everyone participated really wholeheartedly – a couple of learners even ticked off a few numeracy and citizenship learning objectives during the visit!

We saw Nigel Owen, a Welsh rugby referee, signing his autobiography, and got a selfie with the very talented ‘Welsh Whisperer’.

Shane and Gruff picked up some decorations for their houses before seizing the opportunity to feed the reindeer with some white moss.

It was a great event and gave us quite a bit of inspiration for our Advent Fair next year.
