Coleg Elidyr - Specialist College

Specialist further education for people with complex learning needs. Supporting young people with autism, learning difficulties and disabilities to live life to the fullest.

We’ve spent decades refining our approach and creating an environment that helps to prepare learners for life when they leave us. We currently offer two placement options, the Foundation Education programme and our Skills for Life programme.

Both programmes have been designed to suit the learning outcomes included in Education & Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and Individual Development Plans (IDPs)

An Inspirational Place to Learn

Whichever programme a learner is on they will have access to our wide-ranging facilities, on-site therapeutic support and committed staff. We run a 24hr programme up to 52 weeks a year ... every minute for every person is accounted for. This allows us to provide a holistic approach to personal development.

A Person-Centred Curriculum

We have a broad and balanced curriculum designed to meet the needs of all learners. We want the young people that we work with to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.

When our son started at Coleg Elidyr we felt we had reached our limits – we needed help to move him forwards – we got it! He has achieved so much this year, far more than we could ever have imagined.

In 2020 we were proud winners of a Natspec Award in the student voice category. We have been awarded 'Advanced Accreditation' status by the National Autistic Society for our exceptional approach working with young people who have autism.

Coleg Elidyr is increasingly seen as a centre of excellence in the field of autism in particular, in relationship to the work it has done on measuring outcomes in skills for life and work.
