The Eisteddfod is a competitive festival with over 15,000 children and young people under the age of 25 competing during the Eisteddfod week in various competitions such as singing, dancing and performing. They are the elite few from around 40,000 competitors across Wales who have won their place following local and regional rounds held in the spring months leading up to the Eisteddfod.
The event is held in different locations across Wales each year, and it is considered to be one of the largest and most prestigious youth festivals in Europe.
In 2023 the Eisteddfod will be just a couple of miles from our main site in Rhandirmwyn. It’s taking place over a week at the end of May and we’re getting ready!
The event is huge and in the past has attracted up to 100,000 visitors. As well visiting and joining in with activities, Elidyr Communities Trust are preparing an exciting stall. This will be in the trade show area for the whole week and involves staff, residents and learners.
As well as selling crafts made by our residents and running hands-on activities for visiting children, we’ll be available to chat to anyone interested in accessing our services. We’ll publish more information on our stall in the coming weeks.
If you’re coming to the Eisteddfod then make sure you visit our stall. If you’re really keen to find out more about what we do, why not arrange to pop over to our main site whilst you’re in the area? We’re just down the road.
Contact Jem Moore if you’d like to come and visit.
