01550 760400We were delighted when a mosaic of Captain Tom that was created by our Inclusive Lives Mosaic Workshop raised £60 for charity. To commemorate the outstanding fundraising achievements of Captain Tom we thought it appropriate in this instance to give half the money raised to the Poppy Appeal and half to the NHS local to us – Llandovery Hospital.
A fantastic added bonus is that the mosaic has now been donated by the purchaser to Llandovery Hospital, where it will be displayed as a permanent reminder of the inspiration and hope Captain Tom brought to the country during such a tumultuous time in history.
Creating this piece allowed us to have lots of informal discussions about the pandemic and Captain Tom as we worked. A simple way of keeping our residents part of the global conversation around Covid, which sometimes can be very confusing for people with additional learning needs.
