Celebrating Creativity at ECT

Local hotel and restauraunt takes delivery of table caddies made by our learners.

Andrew Roberts, General Manager of The Plough Hotel & Restaurant Rhosmaen, was truly blown away during a recent visit to ECT, where he collected beautifully hand‑painted table caddies for the hotel’s outdoor dining area.

Learners from the Craft Tutor Group have been busy transforming the caddies with stunning Welsh‑themed designs, inspired by local landscapes and landmarks they often visit. Their brush skills were put to the test, with incredible attention to detail—supported by our very talented staff—resulting in unique pieces that perfectly reflect Welsh heritage and creativity.

This fantastic collaboration came about thanks to a chance meeting with an old friend. Our colleague Clare, who leads the Friday afternoon art club, introduced Andrew to the remarkable talents of our learners—opening the door to an exciting partnership.

We’re delighted to be working with The Plough, who strongly supports our ethos, and we look forward to many more opportunities together in the future.

“I was enthralled by the design and attention to detail the learners have displayed in painting our caddies. This has been a great opportunity for The Plough to work with ECT.”

A wonderful example of community, creativity, and collaboration in action
