Firing Up the Kiln - Pottery is Back!

After 14 years of being sidelined, our kiln has been repaired and Elly, a Work Area Leader here at Elidyr who has a passion for pottery and our residents on the Inclusive Lives programme are delighted to be using the kiln again.

The residents have been busy creating wonderful pottery pieces ready to sell in our shop and our forthcoming Advent Fair.

To begin with they experimented with different glazes to see how they turn out and have now progressed to making lovely leaf shaped trinket dishes with caterpillar's on.  They have also helped with creating a lovely medieval chess set using some special moulds that they found in their storeroom, and hopefully when it is finished it will be auctioned.

At the moment residents are preparing a Christmas range of hanging ornaments which are delightful.

Having the pottery back as a workshop is proving a huge success!
