Grant secured from Hospital Saturday Fund

£7,700 towards our first aid and emergency medical training programme for staff

We were delighted to welcome Mark Davies from The Hospital Saturday Fund to site on Wednesday 15 April. Mark visited one of our staff training sessions before presenting us with a cheque for £7,700.

The donation will help us to deliver essential accredited first aid and emergency medical training to staff. With our nearest A&E more than 50 minutes away, and delayed 999 response times, it is crucial that staff are confident and competent in immediate lifesaving intervention.

This funding will enable two full 3-day First Aid at Work courses and 1-day Emergency First Aid course, training around 90 staff in CPR, defibrillator use, seizure response, choking management, anaphylaxis, and medical emergency procedures.

This strengthens safety across every residential house, classroom and activity area on our 180-acre campus. Enhanced training will reduce risk, improve resilience, and protect the vulnerable young people in our care. This grant will therefore directly improve health outcomes, increase emergency preparedness, and help ensure that every resident and learner can live, learn and thrive safely within our rural community.

Thank you so much to The Hospital Saturday Fund for this crucial support.
