Natspec conference 2026

A couple of days in Birmingham for work experience, networking, chicken & chips

On Tuesday 7 June, some of our learners travelled to Birmingham for the annual Natspec Conference as part of a work experience placement.

Their responsibilities included welcoming delegates, conducting questionnaires about specialist provision, and helping attendees find their way to breakout sessions. They represented the college brilliantly and gained valuable experience in a professional setting.

Meanwhile, staff attended a range of conference sessions, networking with colleagues from across the sector and discussing the latest changes, opportunities and challenges impacting specialist education.

We are proud to support Natspec's campaign to raise the profile of Specialist Further Education

Of course, it wasn’t all work! The group enjoyed an overnight stay in an Airbnb and fuelled up for the conference with nachos and chicken & chips at a local pub the evening before!

A fantastic experience, lots of new skills developed, important conversations had, and plenty of memories made. We’re incredibly proud of everyone involved!
