01550 760400The government have announced a one-off £1,498 additional payment for social care workers. This is to demonstrate a long-term commitment to improving career opportunities and pay in the care sector.
New support workers that join Elidyr Communities Trust before June 2022 will be eligible for this money if they meet the qualifying criteria, which includes a commitment to register with Social Care Wales.
Who is eligible for the payment?
The government are in charge of who is allowed to receive the payment. We know full time and part time support worker roles are eligible.
Staff who start as support workers between 1 April and 30 June 2022 will receive the payment, subject to meeting certain criteria.
When will I get the money?
The money will usually be paid to workers in their June 2022 pay.
In addition to the £1,498 additional payment, Elidyr Communities Trust is offering a £500 joining bonus to new starters in May.
