WorldSkills Competing & Judging

Learners AND Tutors put to work!

We had a great visit to Cardiff & Vale College to watch Elin competing in the World Skills UK inclusive catering final.

Elin's task was to prepare two street food dishes, the skills being judged included presentation, knife skills, health and safety and hygiene.

They also had a 'have a go' section, where some learners took part in a virtual reality experience. Those that attended will all be registered to compete in the next round of Skills Competitions Wales. This visit to support Elin, gave learners a good insight into what the competition is like.

We also all went along to view the carpentry competition, where our very own woodwork tutor, Lewis, had been asked to judge! The day finished off with a ceremony to recognise the competitor's participation.

Elin's had lots of WorldSkills competition experience now, she's a great example to others, who've watched her grow in confidence.
